Hello. We;'re going to give you a beginner's guide to Aston University,
through the sights, sounds and smells of life on campus
and we're going to do it in just 4 minutes!
Tall order? Well we don't think so, because we think if you experience Aston for
just four minutes, you'll want to come and study here for 4 years.
And why 4 years? Because Aston offers placements on all of their courses,
they allow you to theory into practice in countries around the world
and they make you more attractive to employers when you graduate, so we recommend
4 years for the best possible experience at Aston.
WEll, the clock's already ticking, so away we go.
Okay, so you come to Aston University to study in an inspirational place
in the heart of the great student city of Birmingham which turns out
highly employable global citizens, don't you?
Of course you do. But you also come for a campus that's alive with enthusiasm, innovation
and originality - a place to live and to grow.
We've got lecture theatres, laboratories, study spaces,
workshops and computer suites.
From the greatest of Great Halls to the cosiest of private study rooms.
The library's at the heart of the campus with 4 fact-filled floors,
with thousands of books and journals, solo and group study areas and
an almost embarrassing-huge online catalogue, which keeps on growing and keeps on giving.
There's a mix of low-rise and high-rise residences, managed by the university.
They're safe, secure and modern with all the comforts of home,
right in the middle of the city.
Living on campus is an invaluable part of the student experience, as you get to mix with your fellow students
from all kinds of backgrounds, in a well-managed, safe and supportive environment.

The Hub is the place to go for all your study and living support.
The Faith Centre's there for your spiritual needs.
The Students Union is a great place to let your hair down, pick up supplies,
get some representation and find some work while you study too.
We've got a fantastic reputation of getting our students into work
and our Careers and Employability Service is ready and waiting to help you
get your professional life underway.
Did you know that more students from Aston go straight into work after graduating that Oxford or Cambridge?

The Students Union supports dozens of societies,
for students with an interest in - well - just about anything.
Our sports halls are getting a refit too.
so as well as the oldest swimming pool in Birmingham, you'll also have the newest gym, courts and equipment.
And don't worry, moms and dads, we won't let your darling offspring starve.
The are plenty of places to eat around campus
with Cafe Tierra food court one of the main focal points, offering breakfast, lunch
and even evening meals.
Plus there's cafes, pubs and shops - all of them on campus -
and if we don't have it, Birmingham City Centre will do...and that's just 10 minutes that way.
So that's it. Aston University in just 4 minutes.
