one of the biggest complaints that I found as a principal for the last ten years
is parents feel they cannot communicate with school I don't believe that's the case anymore
Hi, I'm Richard Jean, I'm the principal of Archbishop McCarthur
we are fifteen years old we are a very young school we have fifteen hundred students
pretty much 99% of our students go on to college
two years ago when I was named the principal of Archbishop McCarthy
I noticed that we had two issues
one with the technology of the structure second with communication
a tough part for interviewing vendors
I don't believe that a lot of
vendors understand the need of a school
we're not your typical
marketing agency or typical business
so we started bringing in different companies and we brought in a number of companies
to interview, to help us
create the system that we currently have now
one of the things that was great for us was
ShoreTel was able to really sit and work with us for a year
on building our infrastructure
what really made ShoreTel
stand out for us is the day they came in, they came in and showed us an actual presentation of the system
how it would work
actually then give us a demo
when of the amazing things was how they were able to actually use a cell phone and
call the office
and I was able to see how even when they were off
the site they will still be able to be on their system
we implemented ShoreTel l voice over IP system
and also ShoreTel's mobility system
it was able to give us the most
lines
efficiency
for a very economic price
one of the things that was great for us was our ability to leverage the ipad
to have the teacher to be able to use the ipad as a phone
the major benefit that I have experienced in the last year with the change
is the parents feeling content
on being able to applications able to have communication with the school
they're able to know that when they leave a message, they're leaving it directly to the teacher
not into just a system
maybe the teacher might get but they know it's right there, in their email. the teacher is gonna
be able to click and they hear a message
with the change from Nortel phone system to now our ShoreTel, we have seen
a reduction of fifty percent
of our cost monthly
If a colleague of mine asks me what do I think about ShoreTel
I would tell 'em is a perfect fit for us. You have to look at what solution they can bring to your school
