>>FATHER: He loved it here. Actually, he didn't come home. That's a tribute to this school,
this community.
>>ANCHOR: The father of a recent RIT grad killed in the line of duty remembers his son's
love for Rochester and RIT. This afternoon, an impressive crowd gathered at the Gordon
Field House on the campus of RIT to celebrate the life of a recent graduate. 32-year-old
Anthony Wallace was killed in August while working as a police officer in Alaska. He
was an All-American wrestler at RIT who always dreamed of becoming a police officer. Pat
McGoningle attended today's service and joins us now live from RIT. Pat?
>>REPORTER: Janet, Anthony Wallace spent 7 years here at RIT. He was a star wrestler
and a coach. He was also a campus security officer here. His time here was relative short,
but he touched a lot of lives. This school had a big impact on him. His friends say he
loved RIT, and we saw today that RIT clearly loved him.

>>REPORTER: That's Amazing Grace. It was played at the closing of today's celebration of Tony
Wallace's life. We also heard from some of his best friends, fellow law enforcement officers,
his coach and his dad. Tony Wallace graduated from RIT's National Technical Institute for
the Deaf in 2002. He was hard of hearing, but everyone here said that never slowed him
down a bit. Today, he was remembered as Tony the Tiger - a wrestler, a lawman, a son and
a father and friend, someone who made the most of his short 32 years on earth. Here's
his father, Gary Wallace.
>>GARY WALLACE: He loved it here. Actually, he didn't come home. That's a tribute to this
school, this community and the people here. Tony went out and got his dream.
>>REPORTER: Now again Tony Wallace worked as a campus security officer for 3 years here
after he graduated in 2002. Again, he was gunned down in August while working as a police
officer up in Alaska. He leaves behind 3 brothers, a father, his parents and a 12-year-old daughter.
Janet?
>>ANCHOR: Looks like it was a very nice tribute. Pat McGoningle live at RIT tonight.
