Ensuring that every Hoosier child has an opportunity at a high quality
education

That means providing the appropriate resources to Indiana schools.
Education funding has been less than a top priority the last few budget cycles.
By making sound investments,
rewarding quality teachers and encouraging student growth, we can cut
down on remediation and insure all students are prepared for college or a
career.
In December of 2009, public school budgets were cut by almost
$300 million.
These cuts were not restored in the 2011 budget.
In this year's House-passed budget the cuts are partially restored.
$134 million is added in fiscal year 14 and another
$69 million is added in fiscal year 15.
To achieve this we must erase entirely that $300 million in
