In Hamilton, fans of Japan and the All Blacks
are gearing up to support their teams at tonight's big game.
Many are walking to the stadium despite the rain and the cold.
In the city centre, there's an area set up
for those who'll not be attending the game.
Although many are saying that the All Blacks will win,
there are still many Japanese supporters.
We will now cross live
to Hamilton to our reporter, Irena Smith.
Hamilton is trembling in anticipation for the game tonight
between the All Blacks and Japan,
but for those who're looking for a bit of Maori flavour,
I have Tipene Wilson from Haka with me now.
Enlighten us on what your business does to advertise Maori projects.
It's all in the name 'Haka'. The world knows what haka is,
but they don't understand it and it's importance to Maori.
Our company works to promote the Maori language
and it's philosophies to the country, and to the world.
- Why was your company started here in Hamilton?
This is the home of our king, Tuheitia,
it's also a significant place for us of Tainui.
Our knowledge of Maori customs and philosophies
celebrates all things Maori, and we're based here in Hamilton.
Your company was launched just yesterday. How's it going?
Very well, despite the rain.
However, tourists as well as NZers turned out to see what we do.
They we're very surprised and positive.
We explained the haka and kapa haka in general
as well as moko and carvings, among other things.
- So there's no better time for you than the RWC to launch your company.
What are you hoping to achieve from the RWC?
At the moment, we're hoping that
people will know that this is a Maori country.
Secondly, we hope to show that there are many people in NZ
who are experts in these arts.
We hope to one day erect a building
specifically for this industry in Tainui.
Tipene, thank you for your time.
As you can see, it's bustling here in the centre of Hamilton.
There's a big screen here for people to watch,
and it looks like it's going to be a big night.
But for now, it's back to you.
