>>AEVERINE: Ladies and gentlemen, I'm Aeverine Zinn
and this is my American Idol Experience
Right before I went to Pittsburgh,
I was expecting to receive $500
of course, that didn't happen.
So i had no other choice but to break my lease
During the month of July, I had a yard sale
and only raised enough funds for
a Greyhound bus ticket.
But no hotel room
Okay, I'm at the Pittsburgh Greyhound station
In a few hours, I'm heading to Heinz Field
without luggage
and it's going to be hard to find proper accomodations
so I'm going to have to use these lockers here.
It is not an easy decision for me but I have no choice.
Because of American idol rules, I have to leave the luggage behind
and if I do so, I will be disqualified
This is the wristband I was given earlier today.
So get ready
>>SALLY WIGGIN: One look at Heinz Feild this morning
and you might have thought the Steelers were at home
>>MIKE CLARK: More than 10,000 fans were up very early
putting their dreams on the line to become the next American Idol
Channel 4's Kelly Frey shows us the competition is tough.
>>KELLY FREY: They started lining up early Friday morning
outside of Heinz Feild.
Starry-eyed, sleep deprived singers
In fact, this is the morning that American Idol
producers are beginning the long process of
listening to more than 12,000 people
who have driven from all over the east coast
for that chance at 15 seconds of fame
Finally by daybreak, the gates were open
everyone piles in while our cameras are not allowed
to go in front of American idol producers
hoping they'll make it to the next round.
[Fans singing Katy Perry's Firework]
>>AEVERINE: After I made the initail cut, I was prepared to
prepared to sing "Ain't Even Done With the Night"
Boy, did I had no idea that I was about to sing
"Firework"
and I was like, "they expect me to sing that?"
At the time, it was the first time I'd ever listened
or even seen the lyrics.
>>LADY: She told us they're not what they're looking for.
>>AEVERINE: I am about to perform "In The Air Tonight"

Unfortunately, the song "Firework" killed me.
and got me eliminated from American Idol
during the producer callback
That means I did not get to audition in front of the judges
nor got any further in the competition
[BANTER]
Like me.
What's even worse is the fact I happen to be born a boy and now living as a woman
When they mentioned that I had a great voice, but not right for the competition,
that sat off alarm bells
I don't know what the *** these producers are doing.
>> A lot of people got kicked off
>>AEVERINE: I will keep trying.
I struggled on one song - Katy Perry's Firework.
I did terrible
I was not asked to perform the song
[BANTER]
I'm considering doing a remake of "In The Air Tonight"
[BANTER]
>>AEVERINE: That's the problem I'm too cheap.
There's not going to be a next year for me.
It was my first and only chance at this.
I'm going to *** need it.
