Hi, I'm Lara from The University of Queensland. Researching study areas and programs is an
important first step in starting your University journey.
Here, at The University of Queensland, we offer a diverse range of programs across a
range of areas of study. For students interested in studying two programs
at the same time, we offer a range of dual programs, these allow students to combine
the study of two interest areas and graduate with two qualifications. Studying a dual program
is a great way to acquire additional knowledge and skills, expand your career options and
gain a competitive edge with employers. UQ also offers Concurrent Diplomas in music
performance, a language or global issues, these are equivalent to one extra year of
study for interested students. Students can apply for a concurrent diploma once they are
enrolled in a UQ program. The program you choose to study will determine
which of our four campuses you would be based at.
UQ St Lucia is the oldest and the largest of our four campuses. It boasts state of the
art teaching and learning facilities including libraries, first year learning centres collaborative
spaces, lecture theatres, labs and workshops for students to really engage in practical
learning. This diverse and beautiful campus is also home to a full range of sporting and
recreational facilities, cafes, the famous Great Court and 10 residential colleges for
students looking to live on campus. And it's only 10 -- 15 minutes from Brisbane city!
Ipswich is a short 45 minute drive from St Lucia. Ipswich is a health sciences hub offering
programs such as Nursing & Midwifery, Paramedic Science, Bachelor of Health Sciences and also
Medicine. Although the campus is smaller, it boasts some fantastic facilities including
an award winning library, new lecture theatres and a brand new paramedic ambulance simulation
facility for paramedic students to engage in hands-on practical learning. The campus
also has cafes and sporting facilities. And i thing what students enjoy most about this
campus though, is the smaller interactive class sizes.
UQ Gatton campus is located one hour's drive west of Brisbane, is internationally recognised
as Australia's leading education and research provider in the field of Animals, Agriculture,
Veterinary Science, Food and the Environment. Gatton is a one of a kind campus in Queensland
for students studying in these areas and offers a learning experience second to none. The
$100 million School of Veterinary Science includes a Veterinary Medical Centre, Veterinary
Teaching Laboratories and a Clinical Studies Centre. A Native Wildlife Teaching and Research
Facility has also been purpose built to house native endangered species. Students also have
the opportunity to live on the campus in the Halls of Residence. The campus also offers
sporting and recreational facilities, cafes, a library and dining hall.
Herston is UQ's core campus for clinical health teaching and research. The campus is located
alongside the Royal Brisbane Women's and Children's Hospital just two kilometres from the CBD.
The campus is also home to our brand new $104 million Oral Health Centre (OHC), this is
Australia's largest and most advanced specialist oral health service that will bring together
UQ's School of Dentistry and parts of Queensland Health's Oral Health Services.
