We always get people asking us what the
differences are
between different toilet suites
and why one toilet is $100 and another one is $1500
It's kind of like cars you know if you've got a Mazda and a Mercedes
the Mazda will still work, its still a really good product but its not the same as a Mercedes
it doesn't have the brand
and it doesn't have the features.
. So lets have a look at one of the less expensive units first
Okay, this here is
one of our cheaper units
It's got a
plastic seat
most of the toilets have plastic seats
but some of them have different quality
You can normally feel it when you lift up the seat
The seat also has plastic hinges rather than having stainless steel hinges
which are less durable
Now, don't do this on toilets that have been used but do it in the toilets in the displays
If you feel underneath the bowl here,
if it has little holes
underneath
that means that is has a boxed rim which means the water comes evenly around
the pan keeping it cleaner
The cheaper units generally
generally don't have that
Now the other thing about
this particular suite is that it doesn't go all the way
back up to the wall
, it doesn't look as clean and it doesn't look as designer as some of the more expensive units
It's only available in plumbing that goes through the floor, which is called S trap
and one of the big things
is that it has a plastic cistern. You can feel obviously the difference between a plastic
and a ceramic so having a plastic cistern makes it much less expensive
