Marc: It's Friday 24th August 2012,
and it's the beginning of Manchester Pride's Big Weekend
Manchester's gay village is filling up with lesbian, gay and bisexual people from around the UK and around the world.
Everyone's looking forward to a fun-filled weekend of partying, parading and celebrating their sexuality.
Marc: We all know the importance of safer sex, but how prepared are you this weekend?
So, we've been asking guys why it's important to carry these at Manchester Pride.
Festival-goer 1: Because people drink a lot
and they take a lot of substances that they might not normally take and they... party!
Festival-goer 2: Because you never know what's going to happen.
You might think you're not going to trap off but then you might just strike lucky.
Will I? Hmm... But I'll still carry a *** packet.
Festival-goer 3: You never know (laughs) Festival-goer 4: I'd rather have one and not need it than need it and not have one.
Festival-goer 1: And there's one thing you can't take a risk with, and that's your *** status.
Festival-goer 3: In case you feel like getting a bit frisky!
Want to take someone home.
(Noise from canal) Festival goer 5: To make sure you're safe, and make sure everyone is safe around you.
Festival-goer 2: Is it a date? (Both laugh)
Condoms and water-based lube are still your best protection against *** and STIs,
and the Lesbian and Gay Foundation's Safer Sex Packs for gay and bisexual men
are available in bars and venues across Manchester Pride.
