When Paola and I go through Passo Rolle as motorcyclists, I always fight against myself,
'cose I would love both to observe intently the environment and to enjoy every curve,
staying focused on the trajectory and take the most amusement that this track gives to
you, thanks to quality of asphalt.
Today however, I haven't this problem. We're here on our 207, aiming to know where
this white street's leading up. We've always been intrigued about during our countless crossing as motorcyclists.
Sunday, 22th September 2013. It's half past eleven. After we parked at the entrance of
the track, we head confidently for a wicked place where to eat our sandwich, looking for a secluded place with breathless overview.
We go beyond Capanna Cervino shelter and we focus on a big wall of rock, where people are on the top.
The fact makes us considering the chance to climb into it us as well.
Gradually we get closer to the boulder, panorama opens wide always more and reveals wonderful views.
The track is mostly easy, except for this little step which is slightly crumbled.
After this patch, the rise smooths again thanks to a nice snake-like path which leads us quickly on the top.
We snoop round for a while, then we find the perfect place to eat our "secluded sandwich"
with overview on Pale di San Martino. But first, I need to release my creative energy on photos.
Secluded place, rosemary-flavoured bread, local salami and cheese named Bastardo del Grappa
tasted at 2333 metres height and a 360° view. That's what makes us happy of
being able to reach our target.
On this top, near the usual cross is placed a white-marble statue named "The thinking Christ".
This statue made by Pino Dellasega gives the name at the path which start from
the shelter Segantini and leads to here.
Through 2819 metres, with a 190 metres difference in height and one hour and a quarter lasting
track, that of the thinking Christ is a very famous promenade. It's easy, it's for everybody,
although Paola and I missed it, 'cause we followed my instinct instead of signposts.
Luckily we arrived at the same place!
The track supplied by my instinct, on that we travel through again to go back, is 3.8km long and leads straight to Cervino shelter,
where funny characters reside.
Subsequently we keep going on the white street, as far as the park from where we started the journey.
If you would like to go for a promenade not much demanding and very gratifying, since
the top is at 2333 metres height, Paola and I recommend this track, wishing you a great fun!
