Brad: Hello, my name is Brad and Kid President is my little brother in-law. He and I enjoy
making things together, we always have and that's how we ended up making Kid President.
We never imagined so many people would care about the stuff we're making so now that people
are actually watching, we want to use this show to point people towards things that matter!
So Robby is a normal fourth grader and he's working hard in school. But right now he's
on fall break with his mom, dad, and sister. So to give him a little break, I'm going to
share with you 10 of our favorite moments from Kid President this past year.
Number 10: Kid President meets Beyonce! Now Robby would probably put this in his number
one spot. Kid President: I kissed Beyonce!
Brad: But I think my favorite part was not just that we met Beyonce but that the way
we were able to make it happen was by making a video at this desk with Robby playing with
chicken nuggets. Kid President: Oh hi, I'm Beyonce!
Brad: The moral of the story, dinosaur chicken nuggets rule!
Number 9: Kid President changes the future! Kid President: Today's date is the future!
Brad: This was one of the very first episodes that we made for SoulPancake and it was the
first time we revealed to everybody that Kid President could do anything.
Kid President: I'm Kid President, I can do anything!
Brad: Even send messages to himself through time! I also like the idea of reminding everybody
that the things we do now impact the future. Kid President: Let's change the future!
Brad: Number 8: Kid President and Pendleton Ward, the creator of Adventure Time.
Pen Ward was the first person we mailed a can to and we said "would you like to be in
our videos?" And thankfully he said yes! Because that went so well we've been able
to interview lots of people via can phone and it's been a blast and they all been really
cool. Number 7: Kid President and Lennon and Maisy.
This one was our Valentines episode and it holds a special place in my heart. They sang
a song "I would still love you" which is a song I wrote for my wife when we were dating
in college! Lennon and Maisy: Love changes everything
so fill the world with it! Got it? Brad: Number 6: How to say diabetes.
Kid President: Time for us to learn how to say diabetes.
Brad: This actually came from a real conversation he and I were having because in a time where
lots of people were disagreeing about things, wouldn't it be great if we could all just
agree on one thing. Kid President: Who says "diabeetus"!
Brad: Number 5: The parade. In the episode "Kid President Explains It All" we throw a
parade for a very special postal worker in our town, her name is Dana and she is awesome!
This captures the entire reason we started Kid President. It's starting love in a fun
way and watch the episode and then throw somebody a parade!
Number four: A tiny poem to the world. When we got invited to the United Nations we were
blown away! It was really neat to be there but one of our favorite things was when we
stumbled upon a large piece of the Berlin Wall. Robby and I had written a poem together
a while back and it was a last minute idea to have him just stand in front of there and
say it. I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Number 3: Meeting the President! It was absolutely surreal to be invited into the Oval Office
and meet the President of the United States. The entire experience was great but nothing
beats Robby's reaction when he found out that the President called us.
Kid President: Obama! Obama! The President! The President! I can't believe this is happening!
Brad: Number 2: The pep talk! This was maybe the eighteenth or so video we made together
and we never imagined that millions of people would watch it! Much less that millions of
people would watch it and actually be inspired or moved by it! My son had just been born
a few weeks before that and so I wanted to make something that he would be proud of and
it was just a personal little episode and I kind of thought it would squeak by and not
many people would watch it because it was so different from our other but it means a
lot to us that its connected with so many of you. Our favorite Kid President moment
from this past year is you! It means the world to Robby and I that you
watch the show but it means even more that you watch the show and you actually do stuff
with it. We get the kindest messages and you guys take action whether it's Kid President
asking you to dance or to send in videos of yourself laughing or to help him activate
one million people to help the homeless. You guys don't just want to watch videos on Youtube
you actually want to make the world more awesome and thank you so much. You're giving us a
reason to dance! So what's your favorite Kid President moment? Share it in the comments
below! And don't forget that it's Socktober, we're trying to activate one million people
to serve men and women who are homeless in their communities. In addition to that we
want to build a safe place for women and kids who are homeless in Little Rock, Arkansas
and we need your help! Go to happysocktober.com! Dance time!
