This will be an eight zigzag-petal flower with picots.
Make a chain of 5
and join the chain in the round with a slip stitch.
Round 1.
1 chain stitch up
single crochet 15 in the round
to finish the round, make a slip stitch through the first chain stitch.
Round 2.
chain 4 (to replace a treble crochet stitch)
chain 3 more for chain space
skip one stitch on previous round and treble crochet through the second stitch (yarn over hook 2 times for treble stitch)
chain 3 again
and treble crochet through the second stitch
Repeat again: chain 3
skip one stitch and treble crochet through the next stitch.
We`ve just made 3 chain spaces.
Continue the same till the end of this round.
Let`s finish the second round together.
chain 3
and finish the round with a slip stitch through the fourth chain stitch.
You might feel like this round is a little bit tight.
There is nothing wrong with it. It should be like this!
Now I am going to change the yarn. I will start making petals with light color yarn.
For this I need to make the last stitch of this round (which is slip stitch) with new yarn.
Go back to the chain of 3
Insert hook through the fourth chain stitch, grab the new yarn and finish the slip stitch with this new yarn.
Now you see new round starts with new color.
Just to fix the new yarn I`ll chain 1 and single crochet through the same stitch.
Somebody just does the knot on the back side, I will do it later (to hide the tail).
Next round 3.
chain 2 (we`ve made 1 chain stitch already; totally should be 3 chains)
make a 3-chain picot (chain 3 and a slip stitch through the second chain stitch)
into the first chain space double crochet 5 and make picot on top of each double crochet (picot = chain 3 and a slip stitch through 2 loops of double crochet)
We`ve double crocheted 5 and made a 3-chain picot on top of each double crochet.
Now double crochet 5 (and make picots) under these 4 chain stitches (that replace a treble crochet)
Now fold the petal and make a slip stitch through the next treble crochet.
Our first zigzag petal with picots is ready!
Let`s go ahead and make the second petal.
chain 3
make a 3-chain picot (chain 3 and a slip stitch through the third chain stitch)
into the first chain space double crochet 5 and make picot on top of each double crochet
Now we need to double crochet 5 under this treble post
double crochet 5 and make a 3-chain picot on top of each double stitch.
Now turn the work, make a slip stitch through the next treble crochet stitch.
Second unusual petal is ready!
Continue the same till the end of the round.
Let`s make the last petal together and finish the flower.
chain 3
make a 3-chain picot (chain 3 and a slip stitch through the second chain stitch)
now into the last chain space double crochet 5 and make picot on top of each double crochet
Now we need to double crochet 5 (with picots) under the last treble crochet post
Now make a slip stitch through the fourth chain stitch (that replaces treble crochet)
Our beautiful flower is ready!
Here is the back side.
Let`s compare this flower with the one that we made in tutorial 32.
We made these 2 flowers the same way.
The only difference is that now we`ve made picots on top of each posts in petals.
Here is another flower with picots that I made in 2 different colors.
Thank you so mach for watching.
