Please find this product at http://absupply.net/ This video is to bring you a closer look at
the Freud AB42-100 laminate trimming bit. 3/8" diameter. So a bit like this, it's a
two flute carbide. Two flute carbide bit with a ring on the end. That bearing can be replaced.
Generally the only time I've really had to replace a bearing on a router bit is if it's
been unintentionally damaged, but it can be replaced. 1/4" shank. This is going to be
used in your laminate trimmers or really any sort of tool where or a small portable router
when you are, it's trimming laminate. It's specifically made for that sort or application
meaning if you are, when I've used these if you are taking wood doors and you are going
to put laminate, Formica, Wilsonart, Nevamar, Pionite, or whatever the laminate is, decorate
metals. You will get that glued down to the face of your door; well you're going to have
overlap because your sheet of laminate will be 4x8 or 4x10, or whatever. You then need
to come around the edge of that door with your router, your laminate trimmer bit in
your laminate trimmer, come into the edge. That bearing is going to post up against whatever
you are sliding it against. As the bearing is turning, pardon me, as the bit is turning
that bearing is sliding against whatever your trimming against. So you take your little
laminate trimmer and just buzz it all the way around whatever you are doing, or you
will use this if you made the door but made the cut out in the door first and then laminate
second because we would like to do that to prevent damage to the laminate because once
you are putting laminate on the door is almost basically done, or counter tops or whatever
you are using it for. We would do the cutout on the door for like a window, laminate over
all of that stuff, you can tell where the laminate is because there's a small depression,
you can drill a hole, drop the laminate trimmer in there and buzz up to the inside of your
cut out and then trim out all around and flip the door over and do the other side. I'm not
a woodworker, but you know door work is where my references will pretty much come from.
Nice quality Freud bit; I've used Freud for years and years and years and have no problem
with their quality whatsoever. If you have any questions on the Freud AB42-100 laminate
trimming bit or any other Freud router bit, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank
you.
