Ten people were killed when a Turkish navy tugboat capsized at a shipyard in western
Turkey on Monday.
The accident took place at Alaybey military shipyard in Izmir early Monday afternoon.
The vessel, called the TCG Degirmendere, was docked at the shipyard for maintenance.
When it was launched to sea
it listed to its right side.
Six officers reportedly jumped off the ship.
The accident resulted in 10 deaths, including eight military personnel and two workers.
Seventeen people were injured.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
