During the weekend of May 25th and 26th
the City hosted
Doors Open Toronto,
marking the 14th year
of this event.
Toronto Fire Services
opened its doors
to station 227 in the Beach
and 334 at the water front.
People dropping by were
able to see the
William Lyon Mackenzie
which was taken over
by pirates for a
short period of time.
A simulated water rescue
took place on Saturday morning.
Also on display
were the artifacts of
the passenger steamer Noronic.
The fire truck and ambulance
are always a hit
for kids of all ages.
The Fallen Firefighter Memorial
next to H2O Park
posts a silent reminder
to those who died
in the line of duty.
Visitors on Sunday were
able to see the
fire boat - Sora
leave the dock as
they were dispatched to
a medical call
out on the island.
