When we moved here we did an evaluation of assets of what we have. And the assets of
the farm was weeds, if you want to call it that. Now we got hair sheep, Katahdin sheep
to be more specific. And they're the closest as far as eating of weeds as we can find without
starting with the letter, "G." And between them and the intensive grazing, our weeds
are a whole lot less. In fact, one of our fields had so much houndstongue or beggar's
lice that you could make bales of hay out of it. Now, in that field you'd be hard pressed
to find one or two of those plants. By the way, we use absolute no chemicals, no sprays,
no nothing.
