Hi everybody this is Christina The AmputeeOT
and in this video my sister is gonna make me WORK OUT!
*laughing* Becca: workout!
here we are at the Red Fitness Lounge where the owner kindly let us record
It's really hard to do regular squats if you're a BK amputee
Because your foot cannot flex to do the squat
So here is upside-down squats, which you should
definitely always do with a spotter.
This is a Barbell Bridge. Don't do it in front of
anybody and don't make eye-contact with anybody
When you're doing it.
This is a weighted donkey kick.
...or a butt-blaster, whatever you wanna call it.
Will that stay there?
Becca: That's plastic.
That's not very many lbs.
Becca: *laughs*
It's hard to find a good exercise for leg extension because when you
Press here on the leg extension machine it puts a lot of pressure right here on the end of your tibia
So you can either train one-legged or you can do it at a lower weight so it's
more tolorable to the end of your tibia.
Becca: I don't think you're gonna win at the stairmaster game.
here are several exercises to work on your core and abs
Becca: do it fast.
Becca: I have to close my eyes if I do it or I get dizzy.
I'm not coordinated enough.
Lunges are really good exercise for building up your leg
strength but if you're an amputee it can be hard to balance on your feet so
you can't do them supported like with the straps as shown here
See this one's [prosthetic side] going to be harder
Becca: You can hold on to something and do it.
old yeah That's true.
Becca: Here.
Becca: It won't slide up on you! On that leg.
Nope.
*giggling*
