Well what we're saying in this letter is we have to have a public option.
I mean I have been fighting for a public option from day one in the United States Senate.
We've made it clear in legislation, we've made it clear in letters, we've made it clear
to the leaders, we've written this letter we've said to our leaders in the Senate put
a public option in there, we have to have one.
When you're talking about health insurance options let's talk about New Mexico.
New Mexico has a market where 65 percent is controlled by two health care providers.
So there you go, there isn't real competition, there isn't choice, there isn't a motivation
to push the cost down.
And what we've seen in New Mexico is these skyrocketing premiums, people unable to get
good health care.
If you have a public option we drive the prices down.
We make it affordable and really we all know what we want is quality, affordable health
care for every one of our citizens.
