Hallo und willkommen! Ich bin MeisterLehnsherr und ihr seht „Learn German for Beginners
-- Deutsch für Anfänger". In the last lesson we learned all about German
days, months, seasons and holidays! In today's video we're gonna take a look at how to express
emotions in German! If you haven't seen the previous video, make sure to watch it first!
Let's start, lasst uns anfangen! If you want to ask someone how they feel you
can use the following sentences: - Wie geht es dir? Or more specifically Wie
fühlst du dich? (How are you feeling?) Some responses might be:
Ich bin glücklich! -- I'm happy! Ich bin traurig! -- I'm sad!
Ich bin wütend! -- I'm angry! Ich bin aufgeregt! -- I'm excited!
Ich habe Angst! -- I'm scared (the literal translation would be „I have fear")
Let's try some variations: Sie ist glücklich! -- She is happy!
Er ist traurig! - He is sad! Sie sind wütend! - They are angry!
Du bist aufgeregt! - You are excited! Or Sie sind aufgeregt (formal)
Wir haben Angst! - We are scared! Let's use this in a conversation:
Hallo! Wie geht es dir? (Hello, how are you?) Mir geht es gut und dir? (I'm good and you?)
Ich bin aufgeregt, morgen ist meine Geburtstagsfeier! (I'm excited, tomorrow is my birthday party!)
Bin ich eingeladen? (Am I invited?) Nein, tut mir leid! (No, I'm sorry!)
Oh, jetzt bin ich traurig! (Oh, now I'm sad) Auf Wiedersehen! (Goodbye!)
Tschüss! (Bye) That's it for today's lesson! Gut gemacht!
Well done! In the next lesson of "Learn German for Beginners"
