To baste meat, make sure that you start with a really good marinade or start with the drippings
from your meat. You want to make sure that you're constantly coating the outside of your
meat with the sauces. If your sauce has a lot of sugar in it, you may want to wait towards
the end of that cooking process to put that on so that the sugar doesn't burn on your
meat. Also, you want to make sure that your basting with what has oil in it and that will
help insure a juicy piece of meat and that is how you baste meat.
