Hi I’m Jane Verostek – school librarian at the Carnegie Elementary Library
We’re going to be talking about what's happening for the month of April at our school library.
During April it’s National Library Week
To celebrate we are going to be putting a challenge to parents and our children. We’re going to ask
that for the month of April you try to read to for twenty minutes a day to your child
to help you with that
when the children come to the library we’re going to let them take out books
during their library weeks
And we’re going to give you some ideas too. We’re going to have a list of ideas of books you could read
And we’re also going to ideas like taking a very large chapter book
Hugo which was recently out as a movie that might be a great book
To read to your children – it’s a little overwhelming but you can break it down and read a chapter a night
and then you get through your twenty minutes a day and then you can have this book finished
During our book challenge month.
So again in April it’s going to be National Library Week We’re going to challenge our parents and our children to read for 20 minutes a day
We’re going to have some great ideas for you
We’re going to have extra books
And we’re going to have a wonderful time reaching this goal. Thanks a lot and good luck!
