Hello, my name is Qiana Smith and I'm the Assistant Director of Housing and Residential
Life. What the students can expect at the University of Michigan-Flint living in the
residence hall is an environment where not only they live in, but also they learn in.
They build life long relationships. Also, there is a highly trained staff there to assist
them and work with them in the residence hall. And the professional staff also has a lot
of experience in Housing to assist them. And so the living experience here at U of M-Flint
is outstanding to me and a good environment for them to learn and live together.
Hi, I'm Mike Farmer. I'm actually a Computer Science professor here U of M-Flint. This
is my daughter Melissa and this is her move-in day. We're pretty excited about it so. Not
gonna be a Computer Science major though, she's gonna be an English major. It's gonna
be great fun. Yeah, I'm really excited to move in.
My name is Beaukett and I'm from Malawi. What I expected when I first came here is I don't
know. The only like, this is my first time in the United States and where I'm from everything's
very dirty. It's not very put together. It's all broken. So I guess when I first came here
like, I expected what I've seen from the movies more. But I mean it's, what I've seen it's
just, this place is really beautiful and it's so green. Like I don't know, it's all the
little things but I mean it's something that I was looking forward to. Actually seeing
cars that can actually work on the road and the road not being full of puddles. Like I
mean, it's very small things but it's just things that most people just don't really
think about.
