For Complex News, I'm Sean Evans and earlier this week, record producer Metro Boomin' found
himself on the defensive after he went on a Twitter rant criticizing artists for flooding
the marketplace with half baked mixtapes.
Many assumed that Metro was praising Future while simultaneously slighting Young Thug,
including Thugger himself who first asked for clarification, then a request to put names
on that *** lil boy, and finally a suspected shot at Future in which he calls Future the
Tito to his Michael, though he didn't put names on the ***, so we can't be sure.
The cryptic back and forth continued with Future telling someone, probably Young Thug,
that he'll never have the juice.
Well, a new day, a new chapter because on Wednesday afternoon Metro Boomin' put names
on that *** and told || Young Thug that he's in the city and at the spot: || "we know each
other in REAL life so you can pull up whenever cuz you know I ain't no hoe."
Young Thug quoted the tweet with an emoji and replied "I'ma beat the *** out of you
fool." which is where we stand now.
On the surface, it's hard to wrap one's head around this one. I mean, why would Metro Boomin'
slight Young Thug for churning out mixtapes when the two reportedly have a collaborative
mixtape on the way? That would be like Tyrese calling out Vin Diesel for cranking out too
many Fast & Furious movies. They're in the same boat. It makes no sense.
Better question: Why fight on Twitter about an alleged diss, especially when the offending
party denies dolling out the disrespect, when you can just pick up a phone a figure it out.
Unless this a guerilla marketing ploy for Metro Thuggin, it's just a mess. That's the
news for now, but for more on this story as it develops, subscribe to Complex on YouTube
