Hello Today I want to show you all snaps are not
the same
Do no lose that fish of a life time
This is a standard type
This is a sampo regular snap
This is a sampo with a cross lock
They are all very good
I use this on for salmon
Excellent for Northern Pike
Change to a steel leader without retieing
This would be more for salt water
The cross lock is not a swivel
Your bait can roll and twist the line
Cross lock with the safety on it
I use these for Muskie fishing
Use at the top end of 100# fluorocarbon leader
Here is another light weight small cross lock
I would not trust them for fish over 4 or 5 pounds
Standard small barrel snap swivel has small wire
This is a better Snap Swivel with better strength
This is a better quality bearing swivel that is milled
This is the best in my opinion
This is the worst one of all
I don't recommend buying this type
Without the snap the wire is just clipped in
Just the bend of the wire helps keep the pull on this leg
If twisted in fishes mouth it can pop open
Has happened quite a number of times
Make sure snap is secure
Once they get some wear discard
You can bend them back in line with pliers
Not real expensive
You can see this one has had a lot of use.
That fish of a life time only comes just that
Once in a life time
Good luck
