G'day everyone. My name is Daniel O'Grady and welcome to another
Wasabicars video. Thank you so much for the feedback on that
last video I did about whether to stick with Nagoya videos or something new, or something
old. That's what I've done here; back to basics.
Back to Wasabicar territory. Here is a rusty Toyota Corolla Levin that
I saw quite a while ago now. I was always meaning to go back because I
didn't have enough footage. Now that I do this face to face and incorporate
footage, I now have enough. Let's check it out.
Yeah, a TE71, and it was is a car-yard/workshop that I came across.
There were lots of other interesting cars there but certainly of the cheaper variety.
I'll tell you about the day I took this footage. I parked my car across the road and I was
standing there shooting the video. There was no-one there. I'd knocked on the
door; nothing. So, I took it upon myself to shoot some footage
and a lady parked her car behind where I was standing, walked up to me.
She was visiting the house and she made it pretty clear that I should talk to someone.
We walked together around the back, and I spoke to the mechanic.
It was all pretty awkward. These are the perils when we are car-spotting
in Japan. You can't do what I just did. Unfortunate.
So, let's check it out, guys. Exactly, what is it?
I found a brochure on-line. You can see on the Coupe side of things, there
is the SR, then the Levin S, then the Levin, then the Levin Apex.
This one, based on the interior door card (the door trim), I'm assuming it's a Levin
S or a Levin. I just don't have the knowledge to differentiate
which one is which. Yeah, a Levin S or a Levin. It's hard to say.
I don't have a photo of the engine. Most unfortunate, but I could really just pop the hood.
Here's a photo of another one I saw. I believe it's exactly the same engine.
And again, looking at that brochure, the engine is a 2T-GEU, a fuel-injected, twin overhead
cam engine just like the one you see here, which is actually from a Sprinter.
But, anyway. Look forward to that one. That is a winner. I can't wait to show you.
I have waffled on long enough once again. A question! I want to ask you guys a question
at the end of every video. So, my question is, do you know anyone who
ever had one of these E7-series Toyota Corollas? It'd be great if it was a Levin but maybe
it was more of a grocery-getter model. Just let me know in the comments below.
Thank you very much, everyone. Take it easy.
Goodbye.
