When you can check email, stream movies, download music and more from home, life is not just
easier, it's more fun. That's why we're going to help you with the set up of your internet
modem, the device that connects you to the Internet, so you can enjoy it all better.
To get started, this is what you’ll need:
• An internet modem. • A Long coaxial, or COAX cable.
• 2 Short COAX cables. • A 2-way splitter.
• An AC Power cable. • And a Cable box
Let’s begin by connecting one end of the long COAX cable to an active cable wall outlet.
Make sure it’s snug.
Then take the other end of the long cable and connect it to the IN-port of the 2-way
splitter.
The next step is to take one of the short COAX cables and connect one end with one of
the 2 OUT ports of the 2-way splitter,
And the other end to the cable jack on the back of the modem.
Now for the second short COAX cable. Connect one end to the cable port of your cable box…
And the other end, into the remaining OUT port of the 2-way splitter.
All that’s left now is to connect the power cable. Plug one end of your internet modem’s
AC power cable into the back of your modem…
and the other end into an active power outlet on the wall.
If the hook up is successful, the lights on the front of the modem will light up, verifying
it works. Your Internet is ready, and the next step is to connect your computer and
devices to the Modem. For more information on how to do that, watch “Connecting via
Ethernet” or “Connecting a Wireless Router”
Time Warner Cable. Enjoy better.
