Hi, I'm Dr. James Partridge, a general surgeon at McFarland Clinic. The general surgeons
at McFarland Clinic find, you know, a wide range of operations, be it gallbladder or
hernia, or breast cancer, colon cancer, a variety of intra-abdominal cancers, you know,
possibility of the adrenal gland. Of course, we have to take care of patients who are victims
of trauma, be that car accident or other types of trauma. That's the bulk of what we do.
Once we've decided on a treatment plan, then that's usually when we get my nurse involved
with sort of the logistics of setting up their regular doctor to decide if they're fit for
an operation, setting up for an operative date, the anesthesiologist to be involved
with their care, if they're going to need time spent in the hospital, making sure that
those arrangements are made ahead of time too. All of the insurance work gets started
by my nurse and often requires some of the patients to take on the responsibility of
making sure everything's set up, but we take on as much as we can. If my patient's happy
and my nurse is happy, and the receptionist is happy, you know, everybody's getting what
they need taken care of, then that's the most satisfying day.
