>>Erik: How have you managed peer pressure, specifically pressure to conform, as your
career has developed?
>>Adam: Thankfully I’ve evolved, like many of us have and I’ve seen through the veneer
of peer pressure, I’ve always had to carve my own path and this is something that I’ve
become more adept at doing, though at first it was more difficult. When I graduated college
and decided I wanted to travel the world a lot of people thought that I was a little
nuts and when I went for a second year and a third year and so on, more and more people
thought that I just didn’t know what I wanted to do or that I was escaping something so
I had to deal with that pressure but for me personally I am confident enough in my path
and I know that - I just have a feeling that sooner or later that people will realize that
this is all part of the process and that I have a… a direction that I’m headed towards
and that sometimes, you know – sometimes the goals gel as you progress. So I think
a lot of people have the… misconception that if there’s no set concrete goal at
the end of the tunnel that the path itself is maybe a waste of time or is without direction
and for me personally I’ve had faith in the path, I’ve had faith in the process
and so I’ve been able to not worry about what others are thinking knowing that I’m
heading down a path that will inevitably, as long as I’m evolving and moving forward,
will lead me to what I want to do.
