Now right before I eat the fire, I make sure there's a lot of saliva in my mouth. Simply
chewing on my tongue, or perhaps getting a little bit nervous. That always works. And
one more thing I do is I wait until the end of my act, I'm juggling the fire. Juggling
the fire. And then I hold still and check to see how much flame is still left. Now I
know that the heat of the fire is going up, and the biggest risk is this hand, the hand
above. So I put the wind at my back, and let the flame be blown away from me. And I pull it out while the flame is still
lit. Now this is a rather large flame, and a rather large wick. It gets quite hot. And
on a windy day, it's actually much more dangerous than it is indoors or on a calm day. Here
we go.
That time it was in my mouth for quite some time.
