This is not the time to give details about what would happen
if the Palestinians went ahead with the unilateral decision and there is no place for threats.
The only thing that I can say with full confidence is that the second an unilateral decision is made
there will be very severe consequences.
The question is, assuming we returned to the pre-1967 borders and split Jerusalem,
will we see peace the very next day? Will we see security?
Can anyone guarantee that the very next day Hamas will not take control over Judea and Samaria
like it took control over Gaza?
If I take a look at the former ministers and the previous government,
with all the will to reach peace - and I'm referring to the governments of Olmer, Tsipi Livni, Kadima -
what was the end result?
The second Lebanon war, Cast Lead operation, cutting diplomatic ties with two muslim countries?
I really hope common sense will prevail in all the upcoming decisions and policies
and eventually an agreement will be reached
that will allow coexistence and an advancement in negotiations.
But we will certainly not have peace of mind with an unilateral decision.
