Ayane: Honestly, I didn't want to believe it...but I've discovered an unfortunate fact.
Reiji: An unfortunate...fact?
Ayane: Yes. Actually, the last time we were in Eyespace, I used my skill to cover the entire island, to search for any and all of the
remaining magi.
Ayane: As a result, other than Arizuka Jin and ourselves, there were only four other magi on the island.
Reiji: Na?!
In other words, there are only six magi left...
That means that...
Ayane: Yes. Everyone that is left are those that we know well.
Reiji: ...That's impossible, that can't be!
Unable to accept the implications, I automatically reject what Amamiya has just said.
That would mean that someone I know is the mastermind behind this whole thing.
Or, as Odin's existence could literally have transcended us than that could mean he's taken the appearance of one of us.
Ayane: In other words, even if we don't want to we have to continue this ritual until the truth is finally revealed.
Reiji: By chance, if Odin isn't found than...even if I try to think like that, I can't.
Ayane: Yes, you're right...Although, it's impossible to be able to create something like Eyespace and sustain it if he were not
on the island, correct?
Reiji: ...
If Odin were running this ritual from outside the island, than it would have been next to impossible to find him.
Since he's capable of encasing the island in this damnable space, I had always believed that he was somewhere on the island anyway.
Ayane: It's naive to try and hide from the truth. ...That's why we have to accept this fact.
Ayane: Right now, one of us is lying to us...And, that person...
Reiji: Might be Odin, you're trying to say.
Ayane: Yes.
And that was what I did not want to hear the most.
But at the same time, I can't turn a blind eye towards reality.
Rather than hiding from us all this time, I have to accept the fact that Odin may have been among us all along.
Ayane: Now you see why I'm so desperate to protect you, Reiji-kun. ...Do you understand me better now?
Reiji: ...
Ayane: Yes. Reiji-kun, you're too kind to the rest of us. I can't understand...why you'd undergo such risky behavior.
Reiji: That's...
Even though I want to deny that, I can't.
Up until now I've found it extremely difficult to consider anyone other than Odin as an enemy.
While I have already decided to fight the mastermind, that person may in fact be someone closest to me, keeping attention away
from him or herself while the rest of us fight.
Ayane: Don't worry, Reiji-kun. I'll protect you.
Ayane: You don't have to worry about everyone else.
Reiji: Tch!
Ayane: I advise you to take some precautions, Reiji-kun.
Reiji: ...
Reiji: Yeah. Thanks for the advice, Amamiya. I admit that I haven't been nearly careful enough thus far.
Reiji: ...However, I'm not convinced.
Ayane: Oh? Are you certain?
Reiji: Yeah...Both Sayuki and Satomura are suffering because of this madness. And, both Ryuichi and Suzushiro hate to harm others.
Reiji: I don't think it could be any of them. There's no way Odin would be able to pass off as one of them.
Reiji: Even though your theory is a sound one, Amamiya, that's what I firmly believe.
Ayane: ...Fufu, Reiji-kun, you really are a kind person incapable of hating anyone.
Ayane: That's why I like you. There's nothing better than that kind of characteristic in a person.
Reiji: Amamiya...
Ayane: Instead, I...
A cold smile appears on her lips.
Ayane: When I find Odin, I'll kill him, no matter who he or she is...
With that, she leaves a chilling kiss on my cheek.
