Our stay at JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort and Spa in Texas. Video from Heatheronhertravels.com. Presenter is Heather Cowper of Heatheronhertravels.com
I'm at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort, It's a lovely luxury resort in the heart of Texas Hill Country
and only half an hour from San Antonio, so there's loads to see and do here.
The resort was opened in 2010 and is set in beautifully landscaped ground.
With a thousand rooms it's a big place, but isn't everything big in Texas?
The resort is elegantly and unmistakably Texan in style with plenty of leather and wood
And the huge open lobby is spacious and airy but has cosy seating areas too.
So what about the rooms?
Well they were luxurious too, with Mexican style throws, an abundance of cowhide
And if you know anything about Texas you'll be counting lone stars and blue bonnets in your sleep!
Oh, and the views from the fifth floor were amazing
Next door the kids had their own room with two queen beds
The bathrooms were large, with interesting detailing
Dark wood mirrors and marble topped vaity units
There was a bath and separate shower too
Now about that water park
On hot Texas days you can drift along the lazy river to keep cool
Want something a little more thrilling?
Then take your tube and whizz down a water slide
If you are ready to escape the kids, the Lantana Spa will give you some quiet me-time
with a private pool tthat is just for grown-ups
With all this relaxing you'll have worked up an appetite
and the 18 Oaks restaurant by the golf course is your upscale dining option
while the big screens of the High Velocity Sports Bar will completely hypnotise your kids
My favourite was the Cibolo Moon where they have 80 kinds of Tequila and mix a mean Marguerita!
Mmmm delicious!
After dinner while the kids shoot a game of pool
You might want to take your aged Tequila and sip it in the library
with a good book, in front of the fire
