I was born in Maidan Shahr and my mother died when I was one year old...
My father was in prison for four years for killing his mother and brother
My brother had complained against him
I have four uncles and four brothers and sisters.
Violence against women and girls in the crime-torn Afghanistan is increasing day by day...
The graph of violence especially early marriages...
which mostly ends in self-immolation, has reached its peak.
Unfortunately, women still don't have the proper support of national and international entities.
Talking about law and government's role, it is true that laws are made...
for example in the civil law, the age for girls' marriage is 16,
although a person under 18 is a child too.
The reality is that in Afghanistan the girls of age 8 and 9 are getting married...
...and marriage of age 13 is very common and considered a normal practice.
they are sold or given in Baad. due to poverty, they are sold like property.
We have the cases of Sahar Gul, Lal Bibi and hundreds of other little girls
who committed self-immolation or...
...forced into prostitution, drug and human trafficking due to early forced marriages.
I was four years old when my mother died.
We are two sisters and two brothers.
After the death of my mother, my father remarried and didn't look after us.
I lived for one year in my uncle's house and then...
I had to leave the house and go back to my husband's home...
where I had daily quarrels with my in-laws.
So once again, I had to leave the house.
I went from my husband to my father's house and after one year...
I was remarried with my step-mother's uncle.
She wanted to give me in Badal so I left the house...
After seven months, I told my brother that I want divorce.
I can't live with him anymore as my life is hell.
Unfortunately today all of criminals, warlords and those...
who have committed crimes against women and our nation...
are in the key official posts, still they are taking advantage of their power...
and money to commit crimes against women with no hesitance...
and they never want Afghan woman to have even her basic rights.
This is the main reason when we see that *** violence, domestic violence...
especially early forced marriages are sky-high.
There is no organization, system and a proper government that really cares...
for its citizens, so when a woman needs support and access to justice...
She can't get it, because the power is in the hands of those...
who have committed crimes in the last 30 years and in any case...
they don't want Afghan women to have access to fair justice.
I think the law in Afghanistan is just a piece of paper.
Any official at any time can throw it into dustbin, as we saw it during the election.
None of the articles of EVAW Law are implemented.
In the current situation of Afghanistan,
it would have been good if the EVAW Law was implemented but I wish it was practiced.
Similarly, during the period of warlords or so-called Jihadies,
who robbed the country in the name of Jihad,
the didn't consider woman as human beings.
We witnessed that they committed *** and other forms of violence
against 7-years-old girl to 70-years-old mother.
I was referred from Ministry of Women Affairs to HAWCA's safe house,
and then I met my brother-in-law twice who informed me that...
my husband has escaped to Iran. Now I don't have any news from both of them.
My brother-in-law's mobile is off and he doesn't care about me.
Now, my case has to be transferred from local court to the capital.
One of HAWCA's programs, is to support women and girls
who are victims of domestic and social violence, in which...
we have a safe house for them, so they can live safely.
we have defense lawyers, psychologists, doctors and trainers for them.
The solution is that women themselves should struggle for their rights.
The educated women should support other women.
It is our duty to raise the voice of Afghan women and assist in educating them.
Women should have their political organizations...
so they can practically participate in the political, economic and social aspects of life.
Those men who believe in woman's right should be united with women.
I think without struggle and unity of men and women, It's hard to change the situation.
The area in which you want to inject syringe,
should be cleaned with anti-septic and then hold the skin with your fingers and inject it.
HAWCA as a woman's organization, working for Afghan women and girls,
is trying its best to find various ways to prosecute all those who commit crimes...
like domestic and *** violence and early forced marriages against women and girls...
We must prosecute the perpetrators
even if these perpetrators are commanders, parliamentarians or their sons.
We should prosecute them and support the women.
I want to stand on my own feet, study and get educated and find a job.
From now onwards, I want to live for myself!
I have faced violence from my father and husband...
I will not let anyone to do this again.
I had a harsh life, I want to have a better experience in my life.
