Hi, I'm Darko you are watching a new episode on the DumDum channel.
Today we are presenting you to an old domestic .22lr rifle.
Cervena Zastava M-56.
The M--56 is the first .22lr rifle,
Produced in the Kragujevac arms factory.
As the name itself says, it was constructed and produced in 1956
For the training of the Yugoslav People's Army because the production of a bullet .22lr
Was significantly cheaper than the 8x57 bullet, the standard bullet of the YPA.
When the army began to use PAP,
rifle M59 / 66 and bullet 7.62x39,
The M-56s have become unnecessary.
The army probably distributed rifles to the Shooting Federation of Yugoslavia,
Because the Federation gave the rifles away to shooting clubs around the country at quotas,
So the M-56 began to be used in shooting competitions with great success.
Now we will test the precision of the M-56 to 50 meters.
And we will also test the precision with three types of ammunition.
RWS TR, Pobeda Goražde, and Eley Tenex.
5 rounds at each target.
First RWS.
We have a mild wind.
And a temperature of over 40 degrees in the sun.
There is no excuses.
These were 5 bullets RWS TR.
Now we will try the Pobeda Gorazde.
Some say that this rifle is best with this ammo.
I must mention that both Pobeda and Eley Tenex is about thirty years old.
This Pobeda ammo has stronger sound when shooting.
And another one.
That's it with the Pobeda.
And finally, in the end, this ammunition that is designed for precision shooting. Eley Tenex.
Old but kept in good conditions.
Let's see .
Uh, huge heat.
So let's see the results.
Here we can see after shooting with three different types of ammunition at 50 meters with this rifle.
I must point out that the rifle is capable of narrower groups of hits.
But it's partly up to me, partly due to high temperatures, glare from sun, I can barely see the target.
Here we are with RWS TR ammunition, we have at least 5 cm, perhaps less than 5, group.
Here are the hits, nines and one center.
Then, here we have Pobeda Gorazde.
The group is 5 and a half centimeters. There are three in the group literally less than one centimeter.
And, of course, good quality ammunition.
.
Here's Eley Tenex.
Two and a half centimeters.
How high quality ammunition. Though it's thirty years old.
That would be precision, let's move on.
Zastava M-56. Excellent trigger. Very heavy rifle for a small caliber.
But a great trigger and a very, very precise weapon.
For the old gun that fired who knows how many bullets.
Here's some technical data about the Crvena Zastava M-56.
The length of this rifle is 1100 mm:
The length of the barrel is 610 mm.
A weight of 3.4 kg.
The barrel has 6 grooves.
Very heavy rifle, very large, literally the weight as with 30--06 hunting rifle.
When we look at this gun, we see that it is an extremely well built weapon.
This is a forged and milled receiver. |Barrel is forged.
The bolt is one--piece like a mauser. So an incredibly tough rifle.
As people in forums say in joke, it could fire 8x57 round no problems :)
There is so much quality.
Always when you close the bolt in rimfire rifles, do not ever fire on empty chamber.
Because here the firing pin does not strike inside the tube, but it strikes from the side.
when closing the bolt, hold the trigger, of course on empty chamber, and slowly close it.
Or you simply take empty case.
When we look, we see that the rifle is almost identical to the M48.
So there are front sight, the rear tangential setting up to 200 meters.
A bolt action system is identical to that of a mauser, and this way when you look at it
In size, someone might have been deceived that this is actually M48.
In any case, a high quality rifle, with a durable barrel.
This model has fired who knows a tens of thousands of bullets and is still in excellent condition.
There are few traces of corrosion on the surface. Everything else works impeccably.
To try now the effect of the two types of ammunition
RWS classic lead bullet and a Federal High speed hollow point with a copper jacket.
To try the effect on tomatoes and on the apples we have set downrange.
So first shot the lead one then shoot the Federal. So we have two tomatoes and two apples. Let's see.
It was lead, then federal.
You see how much louder it is
To see the effect on tomatoes because our tomato went behind an apple,
Then we'll try on apples.
Here we see a hit with a standard lead bullet, RWS in question.
We see a passage and see a small hole and a slightly higher exit.
And then we have a tomato here that is hit with this HP that is meant for hunting
.
See that effect. Here's the difference.
Now apples
And now on the apples, RWS then Federal.
Let's see.
Again, here we have the expected effect. Here's a hit with lead bullet
Here's the entrance here's the exit, no opening inside. It's a little broken, but it's whole.
And here's the apple after hitting with Federal.
.
Enter and see the exit. So the jacket opened up doing its job.
That's the way we go.
Now, let's try the effect of these two types of ammunition.
So RWS TR and Federal HVHP.
On ballistic gel.
We have seen what works on fruits and vegetables so that we see the effect on a ballistic gel .
First, we lead RWS bullet.
A hit in the center. Now, this Federal HVHP with a copper jacket.
So let's see the effect.
Here we can see the effects and the gel is transparent enough.
Here's the entrance of the lead RWS bullet. He did not do any damage. And here is where he stopped.
A Federal HVHP.
Entrance, opening the bullet, that is, crushing the bullet. See how much energy transfer is here.
Although it was 40 m / s faster than RWS, it stopped behind him, but that's why the jacket did its job
He crumpled and transferred huge energy to ballistic gel.
Here we go first in the middle to take bullets.
Here Federal.
Grain deformation and energy transfer.
And after that, here's the RWS TR. You see how much, 5 cm deeper in.
Maybe a bit more.
But no deformation of course. Here is.
Slight smudge of the top. Here they are.
These are the differences between the Federal HVHP that are meant for hunting
And a bullet intended for target shooting.
So we see immediately here that it is very small wound in the middle.
Here we see almost no energy transfer, here is very little, until here.
Here you see the depth of the wound.
And here we are going to see.
And this Federal, which is meant for hunting.
You see how much energy transfer is there.
See how it opened up, when the jacket was opened and made a transfer. Here too.
For small--scale bullets impressive.
That's the ballistic gel test, let's move on.
When you disassemble the M--56 or any other rifle of this principle.
We have of course M--56. here
First we of course check that we do not have a bullet in the chamber, we do not.
At the stop, this lever here, the bolt stop, press.
And we just pull out the bolt.
If you want to disassemble the bolt. The principle is the same as on the M48 military rifle.
We have to put this butterfly safety in the upper position.
Then we pull out the bolt. And then on this button we move and unscrew the bolt.
So identical to the M48 that you already have an episode here on our channel.
You can look at how to disassemble the bolt.
When we have removed the bolt, we take oil and clean the barrel well.
Of course this is a single shot rifle, there is no magazine.
However, when stock is removed, you can find a small plate at the bottom of the reciever.
You can unscrew the plate and cut the stock
To instal the magazine
Once you have cleaned up and lubricated everything, you are placing the bolt to its place.
here.
And to get to the end, we press the trigger
This is a rim fire rifle and you need to slowly release the firing pin to its place.
It is not necessary to clean the .22lr rifle so often. Ammunition itself has paraffin grease on itself.
j
However, if you have not fired a rifle for a long time, you should clean the barrel before firing and precision shooting.
I'm showing off a little tip from old shooters and shooting instructors.
Take a cotton ball, put in a plug and take a universal oil for lubrication and cleaning
Pour a little on that cotton ball.
You take a bullet and dip tip into this oil.
And shoot it
One, two, three bullets, depends on how long you did not shoot from that rifle.
it is very, very efficient way to clean the barrel.
.
About the Crvena Zastava M--56 you will not find a lot of data on the Internet.
What I can tell you is that this rifle is made to last.
How good it was, she could easily shoot a bullet 8x57, as we already said.
This particular specimen is who knows how many bullets have fired
While used in the army and then within the shooting competitions and still works perfectly.
I'm sure it will continue for a long time.
Indestructible little rifle.
I do not know how much it costs because it's not on ads
But if you come across a copy, I advise you not to miss the opportunity.
