Ok guys this is Naeem again from Mr. Pipes Plumbing and Heating. I just want to show
you an installation of a high efficiency Navien CH240 ASME combination heating and hot water
boiler. This system actually only has one zone. So we are using a single zone controller,
and a Wilo three speed pump to handle that zone. We are actually using what's called
a mono rail heat loop where you have supply and return branches that come off of the mono
rail with directional flow tees on each of these branches. This machine as I said does
both heat and hot water. Something to note about these boilers is that you need to have
your purge valves installed. I have purge valves installed on both the domestic water
side and on the heating side of the boiler so that you can perform proper maintenance
of the boiler. It is also recommended that you install an air eliminator or air scoop
on your primary loop with a Close Tee connection for your secondary loop. This house uses cast
iron radiators to disperse the heat so it is recommended that you install a Wye Strainer
on your primary loop to help protect the boiler from small pieces of sediment that can collect
inside of the boiler. On these combination boilers it's important to do that because
small pieces of sediment can get caught in the three way valve that switches the hot
water from the heating side of the boiler and the domestic hot water heat pack. These
things are here to protect the boiler. One Last thing to note is that the gas pipe should
be a minimum one inch from the meter all the way to the boiler to provide adequate gas
volume and pressure to the boiler so that the boiler can burn at an appropriate rate.
So that's it folks, any other questions you can direct them to me. Feel free to call me
