Hello, my name is Brenda Cichon and I’m a wife and mother of 6 children and 2 years
ago I was working for a window manufacturer and lost my job, was laid off permanently.
I’ve taken your welding course, at NTC here and have enjoyed everything I’ve done here.
The welding, all of the classes and instructors that I’ve had and I’ll be graduating in
May with a year Technical Diploma and really enjoyed my time here at NTC.
I’ve had a great time learning how to weld and learning blueprint reading and metallurgy
and a lot of good students that I’ve had to work with also.
Women do really well in welding. We have an instructor, a woman instructor, Veronica Hope.
And she does a really good job with blueprint reading and with learning and teaching you
how to weld. I, ah actually could not place my accu-placer test at the beginning and it
took me 2 months and I came in to NTC and went into the learning center and they helped
me catch up on my math and my reading and my English and helped me to pass the accu-placer
test. Well, hopefully I can get a job. We’ve got
our applications in and we’ve got resumes, we’ve been passing them out and we’re
hoping to find a really good job in the welding field with a company in this area or maybe
even go into business for ourselves.
