No. Sorry, but, despite appearances, I won't present you a review of
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time,
but only a soundtrack you can see here: Hyrule Symphony.
It's a soundtrack of Ocarina of Time, but it isn't the original soundtrack.
The original soundtrack is here. It contains about 80 tracks.
This for the fans of Ocarina of Time.
Personally, I've never been a huge fan of this game's music.
I shall speak my mind: I think this OST is overestimated.
At that time we could hear players say: "Ocarina of Time, best OST ever!" ...
I was astonished because on the side,
Link's Awakening completely crushed this poor Ocarina of Time in terms of music.
The game itself was excellent, of course, but I was really disappointed by the music.
There are some good tracks, but in my opinion, except for the Gerudo Valley, which is excellent;
the last track for Ganon's last transformation, which is amazing;
some other tracks, like the Forest Temple; there isn't much left.
Well, this is my opinion. Anyway!
So, I'm presenting you this OST, Hyrule Symphony.
It's an orchestrated OST, with a lot of violins. It contains 13 tracks ...
- Here, it's in Japanese, so logically you don't understand any of that -
Most of the striking tracks of Ocarina of Time are present.
In this video, you'll be able to hear 7 or 8 tracks, out of 13.
The track you're listening to now, is the 13th. It's quite particular,
because it isn't from Ocarina of Time; it's a medley from all other Zelda games.
Perhaps you recognized the unique dungeon theme from Zelda 1 on NES
- there was only one dungeon theme, but it was extraordinary -;
there's Overworld, from A Link to the Past; there's also a track from Link's Awakening ...
It has to be the best track of this OST; That's why I wanted to include it.
- I thought: "Hey, I'll put it in my intro, so it'll be there." -
Then, I included Gerudo Valley, Lon Lon Ranch - with Epona -, Kakariko Village,
Hyrule Field, Hyrule Castle, and so on and so forth.
Here, I installed the N64. I thought it'd be more enjoyable to have pictures with music,
so I tried to match the different places with their music tracks.
Tell me what you think about it. I think I'll make other videos of this kind,
I started with this OST, because Ocarina of Time is a very famous game.
But it's clearly not my favorite OST. I find it good, but a bit too simplistic.
A lot of violins, a bit of ocarina, a bit of piano ... It's a bit superficial.
In the future, I'll present you other soundtracks, which are really insane.
We'll stop here ... A word about another rearranged OST, here, made by Moka.
It's reworked with techno music; I don't really like that.
On the right, this is the official guide of Ocarina of Time;
over there, the standard version of the game;
on the left, the collector version of the game, with the golden cartridge, here.
Well, I'm leaving you with the music of Hyrule Symphony.
I recommend this album to you, in spite of all. You'll make your opinion through this video.
Happy listening.
