Family Tax Benefit is a payment for eligible families.
It is made up of two parts - Family Tax Benefit Part A and Part B.
Family Tax Benefit Part A is the most common payment
that helps families with the cost of raising children.
If you get Family Tax Benefit Part A, the age of eligibility
for young people is changing.
The changes start from 1 January 2013. Your payments may stop for a young person
who is: 18-years-old and has completed a Year 12
or equivalent qualification, or over 19 years of age.
If they are 18-years-old and in full-time secondary study,
your payments may continue until the end of the calendar year that they turn 19.
They could be eligible for other assistance,
such as Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY or a Health Care Card.
