And it's Wednesday,... which means it's celebrity news time with our Michelle Kim.
Let's see what's going on in the entertainment industry today.
Hello Michelle
Hello Conn-young
So what do you have for us today?
Let's start in Hollywood. First off, Forbes' list of the most influential celebrities of
the year is out,
Oscar-winner Ang Lee has a small screen project, and Jay-Z has a new role on the upcoming film,
"The Great Gatsby." Let's take a look.
She has topped the list once again.
Even after saying goodbye to her talk show, Oprah Winfrey has topped Forbes' list of the
most influential celebrities of 2013, which makes her number one for two years in a row.
The producer of her very own OWN network received 48 percent of the vote, which is one percent
lower than last year, but still leaves her in the number one spot.
Directors took the next four spots, with Steven Spielberg coming at number two, followed by
Martin Scorsese, "Apollo 13" director Ron Howard and "Star Wars" mastermind George Lucas.
In other news...
Ang Lee, fresh off his Oscar win for "Life of Pi," may be stepping away from film and
moving into the world of television.
U.S. cable channel FX said that Lee will be making his television directorial debut at
the helm of the pilot episode of "Tyrant," a drama series about an American family that
gets drawn into the affairs of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation.
The series will be created and developed by Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winners Gideon
Raff and Howard Gordon of the popular series "Homeland" and Emmy-nominated writer and producer
Craig Wright of "Lost."
Last but not least...
Rapper and producer Jay-Z is adding a modern twist to the "The Great Gatsby" soundtrack.
He's teaming up with director Baz Luhrmann to create music for the upcoming film and
has recently been confirmed as the executive producer for the film’s soundtrack.
Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel of the same name, "The Great Gatsby" will be shot
in 3-D and will star Leonardo DiCaprio as the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby.
The film is set to premiere in May.
