An experiment that put Metro State to the ultimate test. Have you ever stepped off the
Lightrail and on to campus and stopped to look around at the other 25,000 students at
Metro? Usually we don't pay much attention to surroundings as we rush to and from class,
but what if something or someone caught your eye and stopped you from your daily grind
on campus, would you stop to help?
How Friendly are you asked just that. Our actress dressed up in a little black dress,
and also dressed down in just her sweats. She acts like she trips, spilling her thing
in front of groups of unsuspecting students and faculty. The results were both dramatic
and surprising.
Here we Patsy's First fall, a group walks by and no one offers any assistance. On the
second fall the results are even more surprising as this group of girls laugh at her. Its not
until the 3rd fall that Patsy gets any assistance.

This young man not only watches her fall, but checks her out in the process
[pause]
This is the first women to offer any assistance [pause]
These two seem to be nice enough [pause]
[pause]
This creeper asked her if she was all right but seemed uncomfortable to give her any real
assistance [pause]
[pause]
These two women stop to make sure she is okay and also help her up.

This man hears her fall and rushes to her aid, these two girls also stop to help
[pause]
Lets see how differently people react to Patsy in her sweats
[pause] [pause]
Seems like the sweats didn't scare these boys away

This time patsy falls in front of a couple, notice how the girl continues to walk as her
boyfriend offers assistance, she doesn't even wait for him. Outside of the shot he does
his best to reconcile the situation.
Yet another guy stops to help, [pause] [pause] [pause]
[pause]
it appears the sweats aren't deterring men from helping
Faculty even stop to help patsy [pause]
Patsy your in character as a beautiful women today
(Patsy) “Thank you Jenn I appreciate that.” Jenn: How many times do you feel you fell
while dressed... lovely?” Patsy; “It felt like 200, but it was probably
closer to 20 or so?” Jenn; “Patsy you actually fell 12 times
in your cute dress today. Patsy; “OMG! Is that it?”
Jenn; “That was it! Do you feel like wearing this dress people were more friendly to you,
or less friendly? Patsy; I feel that men where equally friendly,
but women were not as persistent, they didnt want to help as much. In my sweats however
women were happy to help.” Jenn; “You were dressed in your ugly outfit
and took a couple of spills as well, how many times do you think you fell when you in your
pretty outfit?” Patsy; “Maybe 10?”
Jenn; “You fell 7 times, and every time you fell someone stopped to help you in your
sweats weather than being in your pretty outfit.” Patsy; “WOW!”
Jenn; “I know SHOCKING!.” Patsy; “Interesting.”
Jenn; “You think it would be the other way around.? But overall Metro State is a pretty
friendly community
