new information leaked by Edward snowed in indicates the NSA is collecting
our contacts from our email address bucks %uh
now this includes all the contacts that we collected we say a man of course the
use this context to draw connections between people that could be potential
terrorists now just to give you an idea of how widespread this is among the TSA
if you look at a single day last year the NSA special source operation branch
up basically saved about 444,000 743 email address books from ya who
105,000 68 from hotmail
a 2,857 for Facebook 33609 t7 from Gmail
and 22,000 881 from unspecified
other providers now I should note that one of the reasons why
they seem to target ya the most is because ya who still does not
in crypt their email they're planning on doing so in January of next year
that's pretty disastrous a google has been doing that a gmail has been doing
that
up since 2010 but I just wanna jump in to clarify one important thing that
that's over the span every year the number she just saw as Anna said
just one day so they collect
the that kinda records day in day up in the offing keep to
unbelievably goes further than that so if you use any type of chat service
up there collecting your contacts on that chat service as well
each day the NSA collects contacts for an estimated 500,000 buddy less on live
chat services
an inbox displays a web-based email accounts
so this is something that might not be that surprising to you all with the
washington post broke the story I was really that surprised about it I thought
well
is about what they were doing anyway %uh but the
most fascinating aspect about the story is what they're doing
would be completely illegal if they were doing it on US soil but they found is
tricky because the key little loop all
where they will go on foreign soil and elevate our privacy and it's totally
okay
so for instance %uh according to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act
was enacted in
1978 imposes restrictions only
on electronic surveillance the targets Americans or takes place
on US territory now a lot of the surveillance does not take place on US
territory usually they work with providers
on foreign land to collect this information
up and if they were to collect this information on
US land they would have to get approval from congress but since they found this
loophole they don't need the approval
ha so thank you see you in a sense so what's going on here with an essay you
know so all those suckers who say like
owner they're just following law this it's all OK they know they
they're just going after terrorists which do you know that we're getting
their comments on that in a second
you know you don't get it man they're trying to invade your privacy in
every conceivable way they really gonna do it
illegally under Bush so-called legally under Obama
but they don't give a damn and this is think big
call themselves the five eyes which sounds awesomely creepy
so the all the english-speaking countries well not all but of course the
ones
at there will partner colonial empire way way back to the US
Britain obviously Canada Australia New Zealand
right those the five countries that cooperate together and basically what
they're doing here and in other cases is
and I predicted this from day one as soon as I read about the fire axe
they spy on one another so than they could turn
the information over and you go well I Inc
spy on Americans New Zealand it and they have to give me the info
right or intercept to that information elsewhere in the world right
and then which the British Torana we didn't spy on our own citizens
the US said that person they gave us the information
right and they're doing this it a hundred different ways a loop holes
this happens to be one of the loopholes so
we're just catching a one by one and all the different ways they're exploiting
these all posts a spy on all of us so two quick points you know it goes back
to the whole debate about whether or not
Edward snowed in is an American hero whether or not he actually did something
beneficial for americans
and I mean as this information continues to trickle in and you realize what the
government is doing to violate our privacy
if you like there's no question he's an american here leaving a cushy job
leaving a very comfortable life
going to Russia where his fate is really a known to be routed to be honest with
you
and now we know exactly what kind of information how much information the NSA
is collecting on us
and then if they will always make the point that hey you know what this is no
big deal because if you're not a terrorist you have nothing to worry
about
except if you are decide okay maybe I don't want to be the average American
maybe I do wanna be a rabble rouser or maybe I do want to question authority
you think the government is going to you some other private information they
collected on you to intimidate you
that's where the problem lies it's a way of keeping Americans complacent
and intimidated and remember the story did about Joseph not sure who is the CEO
quest and K before 9/11 on 2001 the Bush administration came to all these
overcome his Verizon AT&T Qwest
and said arguments all your private information even though it's illegal
ride over your clients and not sure said no I'm not gonna do that
next thing you know this company stop getting government contracts
his stock the stock price tumbled then they said all you did insider trading
company sold at some point before the stock price tumbled
they put in jail for four and a half years but yet we always say oh no they
they want uses for political purposes but it's not about in the future they
were ready use it for political purposes
now they have so much more personal information
they they did back then of course are going to use a political purposes
the whole thing is political
