Pizza Hut P'Zolo You Tube – Supertaster: Daily
Hello. I'm James Norton for CHOW.com's Supertaster and today I went out to Pizza Hut to do a
take-out order of six P'Zolos. Two of each flavor variety. Now what, you may be asking
yourself, is a P'Zolo? That's a fine question. It looks a lot like an egg roll stuffed with
pizza. It's not actually a fried shell, it's a baked shell, but it's supposed to be very
crispy and it comes in three varieties. There's a Chicken P'Zolo, there's a Meat Trio P'Zolo,
featuring pepperoni and like a meatball, and then there's a Steak P'Zolo, as well, with
onions and roasted peppers and Asiago cheese on top, supposedly.
Anyhow, I think these things sound appalling but I'm going to come at them with an open
mind. Give them a shot one by one and let you know how the P'Zolos tastes. Incidentally,
if you're curious about price, I got mine two for five bucks. They're typically three
dollars apiece so they're not real expensive and the size of them is such that I suspect
one is going to be a hardy lunch for all but the NFL linebackers out there. Let's give
these a shot. I'm going to start with the Italian sausage, pepperoni and ham Meat Trio
P'Zolo.
I'm profoundly upset that this doesn't taste worse than it does. Honestly, it's pretty
good. It's a little greasy. The sausage could be spicier but it's got a nice crunchy, crispy
exterior. The meatball and the pepperoni play well together. It's really tasty. I mean it's
a carb and grease bomb but yeah, would eat again for sure.
All right, let's try the steak variety. It's a little salty. It's evocative of homemade
beef stroganoff. Now, not great homemade beef stroganoff, not lovingly made beef stroganoff.
This is definitely the middle of the week, mom is tired, here's the beef stroganoff,
beef stroganoff but, with all that considered, it's okay.
Finally, let's try the chicken one. You kinda can't taste the chicken. It's like you're
eating a big mouthful of crust, so I'm not a fan of that. Not great, wouldn't eat it
again. Not horrible. Not embarrassed for Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut you're stepping your game up.
I have to say the P'Zolos area quite tasty. From a nutritionist prospective, I'm sure
they're roughly equivalent to the antichrist but what the heck, sometimes you got to live
a little and have a P'Zolo.
