Japan completely shifted to digital terrestrial broadcasting this July,
and the world of TV here has set foot onto a new stage.
The showcase of ever-evolving network AV products drew a large crowd
here at CEATEC JAPAN 2011.
One new idea is the cloud-based Internet TV service,
the “VIERA Connect.”
For example, video services.
Taking advantage of VIERA’s high image quality and large screen,
you can enjoy a multitude of images,
live broadcasts, and uploaded videos.
AcTVila has also been given a new look.
It responds quickly and can be displayed on the full screen,
so the operation has become even more versatile.
You will also have access to 3D content.
Moereover the large screen of the VIERA may be used for communication.
You can talk with your friends and family living in distant places
on Skype or share your insights on SNSs very conveniently.
VIERA Connect offers a richer, newer way of enjoying TVs
with a wide range of applications.
And the VIERA Connect Market, which will also launch at the same time
as VIERA Connect, lets you download an extensive line-up of
games and applications and also purchase devices
that can be connected to the VIERA.
Also, private content such as photographs you have taken
may be easily shared when various devices become connected together,
so new ways to enjoy TVs are becoming increasingly available.
There was exciting news about 3D,
which has become more and more widespread
and now has a greater range of peripheral devices.
Panasonic was the first to offer a compact, fully integrated
twin-lens professional 3D camera recorder, 3DA1.
The camera recorder has evolved further. A new model, the 3DP1,
offering higher image quality and the ability to store 3D footage
on a P2 card, will soon be available.
At the London 2012 Olympic Games, Panasonic's 3D devices and
extensive know-how will support the production of over 200 hours of
3D footage by the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS),
which will be provided to rightsholder broadcasting stations
around the world who want to broadcast in 3D
Panasonic now offers a richer line-up of 3D VIERAs.
And the 3D Eyewear has become amazingly light at 26g.
A wide range of 3D compatible Blu-ray Disc™ recorders,
which lets you enjoy recorded programs, were also on showcase.
The fun and excitement of shooting 3D video and 3D photographs are
also increasing manifolds.
The new fully integrated twin-lens FULL HD 3D compatible camcorder, Z10000.
And for photographs, 3D compatible LUMIX such as
The digital interchangeable lens camera, G series,
and the digital compact cameras were also exhibited.
The world of 3D continues to expand.
The ability to connect to other devices and the cloud gives way to
a diverse range of content and new applications, and enables “Connected TVs”
to make life more pleasant and more comfortable.
And 3D continues to evolve and open doors to a new world.
Please look forward to what Panasonic, who explores new possibilities
for TVs and proposes a “smart AV lifestyle,” has in store.
This year, Panasonic undertook live Internet streaming
from the Panasonic booth, “Panasonic LIVE @ CEATEC.”
The live streaming featured a reporter, who visited each corner of the booth,
and experts in each corner, who introduced the various technologies
and products in a simple and interesting way.
These images have been archived so you can still check to see
