Tim: I have a few questions about the sky hook
Tim: you have the patent on the sky hook
Tim: is it still effective and can it be ever stopped?
Kareem: as a shot, it's still a very effective weapon
Kareem: you have to learn how to use it, but if you do
Kareem: you can use it to good effect.
Tim: are there any players right now that are using the skyhook?
Kareem: there's one player that plays for the Portland Trailblazers
Kareem: I forget his name.
Tim: but he's using it?
Kareem: he's using it and I'm trying to get Andrew Bynum to use it
Tim: why is it called the skyhook? Isn't it more like a ballet hook?
Tim: why is it called the skyhook? Isn't it more a ballet hook?
Kareem: the name comes from a sportscaster for the Milwakee Bucks.
Kareem: he saw me shoot it and it looked like it was falling from the sky and he called it the skyhook.
Tim: now, you were in Game of Death with Bruce Lee in 1973
Tim: when you were fighting Bruce Lee, was that acting or were you really getting hurt?
Kareem: I've worked out with Bruce for years. I've trained with him.
Tim: do you still practice your moves?
Kareem: I don't train in martial arts now. I do a lot of yoga now.
Kareem: but Bruce and I trained together so to make it more real
Tim: Now, did your name actually become a Filipino name now in the Philippines? We use your name Jabar as a Filipino word.
Kareem: well, there are a lot of Muslims in the Philippines...
Tim: Oh no, I'm talking as an adjective
Kareem: Oh?
Tim: Yeah. It's used by athletes a lot when they're active.
Kareem: It's nice to know I've made my way to popular culture
Tim: You have! Thank you very much Mr. Jabbar.
Kareem: You're welcome.
