Why Muhammad changed the Quran if it is already written in Heaven? Why Allah allowed the Qibla to be changed by Muhammad so as to please himself? Let the Muslims explain as to why the Qibla permitted by Yahweh God is Jerusalem City but Allah allowed Muhammad to change to the Qibla which shall please himself, not to God. Quran Al Imran 3 : 96 says, The first House (of worship) appointed for men was that at Bakka: Full of blessing and of guidance for all kinds of beings. ' Yusuf Ali Translation. The first Qibla was located at Bakka in Israel that is why Muhammad prayed towards Syria as claimed by most Arabs, because Petra was a city once in the Roman province of Syria. The Roman Empire had expanded from Syria into Medinah region by 106 A.D. when the Romans called the region as Arabia Petraea. Logically, Jordan is where the wilderness of Paran was located. Ishmael and Hagar were residing in Paran after they were cast out of Abraham's family by the order of Sarah. Ishmael still visited Abraham in Hebron after the death of Sarah. Both Ishmael and Isaac buried their father Abraham when he died. This implies that Ishmael dwelt in Jordan and not in Makka Saudi Arabia about 1,421 km away from Hebron in Israel which took more than 30 days to travel to Hebron at that time. Quran says the first House of worship is located in Bakka, which is where Abraham stationed in Israel upon his arrival from Haran in Mesopotamia. The previous qibla must have pointed towards Bakka and that the qibla was changed later towards the Sacred Site of Worship dear to Muhammad as told in Quran 2 : 144. It also admits that the change of the qibla was momentous except to those guided by Allah. If the Qur'an is the exact word of Allah and a duplicate of the original one is in Heaven, then it cannot be changed or corrected. All Muslims everywhere understand from these verses that the qibla was changed during Muhammad’s life time. Islamic scholars several hundred years after Muhammad’s death inform us that the original qibla pointed to Jerusalem.
