so we actually got a student video about student government on-campus this week
uh... and it's frock
million silly and okay he's an irish student fees and iris stevenson looking
forward and hope you have an accent because iris axons or sexy uh... and
uh... it let's share his thoughts on student government
among the first year
arteries
understand what they're fifteen min what they fear for
fearing that i got promoted didn't it uh...
there's very creative financing them and
run for president and vice president
the something my feminine cv
and
abroad without motive but the the uh... oh
their program there
this trend
twenty five percent of the author
monring after any proper position for the problem
all right so he seems to little skeptical about seeing government all
and they are
as many are yes definitely but i think that there is some value to it because
when you graduate and you're looking for a job employers wanna see examples of
leadership right and a lot of times in interviews so i ask you about like are
you a leader out what makes you a leader and agreed example would be like look
iran for this position and student government and i got elected and at and
my responsibilities in that role were a d_n_c_
so there is a value to it
i didn't get involved in it you know i was into politics in all that stuff i'd
just
i felt like it took up too much time in too much energy and there were other
ways that i could display my leadership right
about what are your thoughts on a very curious although i was in student
government actions were
three or four years
uh... fancy it's about so much time but no i was
i was a senator i guess it was he comes vice president actually
and i know it's not that it's a lively yet that you have big-time but no i i
was in city government
uh... i didn't do a really for resume builder eventually got a new
confrontation of the resume builder but
uh... no i wasn't it
not not in because of this than politics business really nothing to party says
try to meet people is good way there's like seventy people in this insanity
econ
are you agree it's still in the a lot of people do just run for it
as your resume builder but it's a community like people it's kind of like
a political fracturing if we can get to know these people any citizen for fun
in his ability to get her like we'd play sports the other with intramural team we
watch c_ span together enough to have nothing to do with actual politics but
we would hang out we had a an actual house like a sorority house
but with the city government going on at the time to hang out
you know i tried overcompensate by not having coffee earlier but drinking a lot
later noble we had our house and we would all hang out there like that was
where we can actually lived in a collective
when i get out of work
uh... but no respond but if we did u hasn't seen anything i think that we did
actually like it takes very motivated ambitious people to get anything done
because the administration that care about
what the students do
uh... but we know we did stuff like about
instance safety and weeded tons of one of these things and it was fun and
student groups and all that stuff and we would give out hundreds and hundreds of
thousands of dollars each year
uh...
it so it's fun
but yeah most people do just use of the resume builder unfortunately i don't
like that social aspect about because i think a lot of people overlook it might
even consider the social aspect of writing in student government but you're
right you do build relationships and obviously these are people who are
motivated and will probably be good to have in their life so that's that's a
great thing
uh... so there are definitely dot there is definitely value to it uh...
my my personal thing was feature debate like i love being part of that and there
is a sense of community it sounds really dorky but yet uh... yeah but we did find
things he did cool things you know like we went to portland oregon and uh...
participated in nationals
outside of thoughts of answer
everyone's status in oaxaca wasn t thirty i think that no i'd like
actually careful because it is last minute summit people interact and never
tell anybody inside and outside israel and usually go through aleman yeah
that sense of community is really important and build relationships that
you will have for the rest of your life helpfully so
card is a great experience for that
