WHILE YOU COMMUTE

OFFICIALS WILL BE
MONITORING THE
ROADWAYS AND
CONDITIONS.

TRANSPORTATION

FOR A CLOSER LOOK.
Some might call this room storm
central
It's official name the
transportation
management center--with 130
roadway cameras its the eye "on"
the storm across the state.
it's a little bit of art and
science all in
one.
Joseph baker with the department
of
transportation tells us they
have a
consise method to determine
where
and when all this salt goes out.
: across the state we have 15
irows
each station is embedded in the
pavement so we get real time
readings of temperature and
frost.
When those temps drop close to
the
freezing mark expect to see
these
trucks.
And when you do baker tells us
to be
mindful for your safety and
theirs.
if your driving reduce speed
stay
behind the plows their
visibility is
extremely limited.
