There is no doubt that the Carbon Tax will impact our cost of living. It’s going to
impact every grocery item that you buy. Take this simple dairy product. The dairy
farmer will have to be paying approximately an extra $10,000 per annum because of the
Carbon Tax and that is just to produce the milk.
Then we have the manufacturer, the road transport and the supermarket in which we’re standing
that has to pay Carbon Tax on its refrigeration. And it doesn’t stop there either, because
when you take this product home, you’ll be putting it in your refrigerator which will
also be using electricity which has the Carbon Tax attached to it.
The Carbon Tax which we were promised would not be implemented is now in full force impacting
your cost of living. Labor made a solemn promise before the last
election not to introduce a Carbon Tax. They have.
We, as a Coalition, will abolish the Carbon Tax to ensure that the dairy farmer gets a
proper go, to ensure that the manufacturer remains viable, to ensure that this shop in
which we’re standing gets a fair go and most importantly of all that you as the consumer
are able to deal with the cost of living pressures. And, what’s more, this Carbon Tax will do
nothing for the environment. That’s why we as a Coalition will abolish it if we are
given the opportunity to govern after the next election.
“There will be no Carbon Tax under the Government I lead.”
“There will be no Carbon Tax.”
