Hello everyone!
Right after the announcement of battle for azeroth I had a fair people ask if I could
make a video to summarize the story of Legion.
Some people simply didn’t play the expansion and want to get up to speed, so this will
be a very barebones quick rundown on the story of Legion.
If you’re interested in full details then check out my playlists.
I have one for all the class specific stuff like order halls and artifacts and one that
starts at the beginning and goes into full details until near the end.
Near the end since Legion isn’t over quite yet, we still have the Antorus raid coming
up, I’ll give you a heads up when we come to the spoilers.
Right then, the story of Legion all begins with the ending of Warlords of Draenor where
Alternate Gul’dan is send over by Archimonde to our Azeroth and kick off another invasion
from the Legion.
He travels to the tomb of Sargeras, unlocks the powers stored inside and brings the Legion
in.
Khadgar and Maiev try to stop him but fail too which Khadgar goes about warning the world
and the alliance and Horde make their way to the Broken shore.
It’s a big failure, the Horde retreats and leaves the Alliance to fend for its own, something
that some members amongst the alliance see as a betrayal.
Tyrion Fordring goes down, Varian and Vol’jin lose their life too which Anduin and Sylvanas
step up to lead.
It’s going to take a bit more to stop this Legion invasion so Maiev releases the demon
hunters trained by Illidan Stormrage, the same Illidan that we defeated during the Burning
Crusade.
They join our forces, while Khadgar realizes that the world needs to be united against
this threat and he wants the Horde to come back into Dalaran.
Jaina Proudmoore, leader of the Kirin tor does not agree, but it’s put up too a vote
and the majority wants them back in.
She leaves the kirin tor behind to presumably go hang out in Kul Tiras, while we hang out
with Khadgar a little bit longer and go speak with Magni in Ulduar.
He was turned into a crystal around the time of the cataclysm and has now woken up as the
speaker, speaking for the titan spirit inside the planet, pointing us towards the pillars
of creation which we can use to seal off that gateway created by Gul’dan and stop the
Legion invasion.
They’re scattered across the Broken Isles and are our main objective as we go through
the zones while also helping out with different problems and different threats.
Azsuna holds the Tidestone of Golganeth which is wanted by Azshara and the Naga.
We help out Prince Farondis and his people, now cursed spirits and end up with the Tidestone.
Val’Sharah holds the Tear of Elune while the corruption of the Emerald Nightmare is
spreading through the land.
We try to stop Xavius the Nightmare lord but are eventually forced to take down corrupted
Ysera, but do end up with the Tear of Elune and take care of Xavius within the Emerald
Nightmare Raid.
Highmountain holds the Hammer of Khaz’garoth taken by Dargrul the Underking.
We help and unite the Highmountain tauren and claim the Hammer.
Stormheim holds the Aegis of Aggramar held by Keeper Odyn, but he doesn’t hand it over
to anyone and we need to prove ourselves time and time again before he hands it over.
Here we also have the Alliance and Horde going after eachother with Greymane feeling betrayed
at the broken shore and of course the history with Gilneas, the Forsaken and Sylvanas killing
his son.
The banshee queen is after enslaving Eyir, a titan watcher with the power to create more
Val’kyr.
For this she makes a deal with Helya, ruler of Helheim, but her plans are prevented and
even Helya goes down during the Trial of Valor Raid.
The rest of the conflict between sylvanas and greymane, between the alliance and the
horde that plays out by taking towers from eachother, towers that are apparently very
important.
Suramar holds the Eye of Aman’thul, but their leader Elisande has decided to ally
with Gul’dan and the Legion.
Those that refused, that dared to speak were kicked out their city so we help with the
Nightborne rebellion, we retake Suramar, take out the Warlock responsible for starting this
new legion invasion within the Nighthold raid and we claim the last pillar of creation that
we needed.
You can’t properly fight the legion without the world greatest demon hunter so even Illidan
Stormrage makes a return as we collected his soul and Gul’dan had stolen his body, now
whole once more he’s ready to join us through the tomb of Sargeras.
“You have seen what I have seen.
Crush!
You know what we face.
Now mortals follow me into the abyss.”
We make our way through the broken shore, even Anduin travels to see with his own eyes
what the world has to deal with and picks up Shalamayne, the blade of his father.
Inside the tomb, the pillars are used, but Kil’jaeden leads us into the Twisting Nether
all the way to Argus, former home of the draenei, now base of operations for Sargeras and the
Legion.
Illidan is well aware that if we’re ever to truly stop the Legion, we have to take
the battle to them.
After taking out Kil’jaeden, he uses the Sargerite Keystone to open up a massive rift
between Argus and Azeroth.
“What have you done?”
“Sometimes the hand of fate...must be forced.”
Easy access to our enemy as our forces travel to Argus, reconnect with lost heroes like
Alleria and Turalyon and we meet up with the Army of the Light.
Our goal is to try and fight our way to Antorus, the Burning Throne while the naaru xera believes
that Illidan is the child of shadow and light, but Illidan doesn’t agree.
“The light will heal your scars.”
“I AM MY SCARS” “The Light is your destiny.”
“My destiny is my own ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR”
The edgyness is real, while our mission still stands.
We need to fight our way through the legion of demons and get into Antorus, the Burning
Throne.
This is where the spoilers come in so if you’re jumping into the game right now, you’re
pretty much up to date as too what happened with Legion so feel free to turn this video
off and avoid the spoilers.
For those already curious as to what’s going to happen next...
We’re going to fight our way through Antorus, make contact with the titans our very creators
and stop the Legion at its source.
Sargeras is going to be imprisoned by the Pantheon with Illidan staying behind as its
jailor, but not before the dark titan is able to inflict some damage to our home world.
“But more will be asked of you.
So much more.
Even now enemies gather and the shadows grow darker.
From this forward the defense of our world, of all we hold dear, rests with you.”
Azeroth is wounded and old hatreds burn hot as we go back into the Alliance Horde conflict.
The details are not clear at this point, but it seems that for some reason the Horde burns
down Teldrassil and the Alliance responds with the Siege of Lordaeron.
Of course this could just be a set up to make it look like the horde did it, this could
be betrayal from within, time will tell but this is Legion in a nut shell.
Thank you very much for watching everyone.
