And this time I bring you 10 interesting curiosities about Japan that I collected around internet.
So get ready to receive this injection of...Japanese culture?
here in "Control Otaku Japan"
To begin I bring you a couple of historical curiosities.
Did you know that in Japan is home to over 128 million people?
and that although it seems much, Japan is the tenth most populous country in the world
so there are 9 countries with more population!
Among them are in the first place China, which has a total of 1,346 million people
this is more than 10 times that of Japan, speaking only of the population obviously.
If here in Chile or in your countries you travels tight on the subway now can imagine a bit like what happen in Japan.
really is horrible.
Did you know that Japan is a nation formed by over 6,800 islands and that the 70% of the country consists of mountains?
Besides that there are about 200 volcanoes of which approximately 100 are active.
Among them is the world famous Mount Fuji, which is 3770 meters high
this is very much, in fact it is the largest mountain in Japan, plus it is a symbol, it is not uncommon to even appear in an anime or in a serie.
Well not that I want to give history lessons, so let's continue with some interesting curiosities.
Many of you may have noticed that when a person enters a house, it is customary take their shoes off this to enter.
Did you know that this act although in principle serve to keep the floor of the house clean because in Japan it rains a lot? Some say it also prevents outside impurities from entering the home.
Basically all this is done for hygienic and symbolism of respect for the home.
Did you know that Kimono is the traditional clothing of Japan? I bet nobody knew that the Kimono began to be used in Japan in the fifth century
it was a custom that was adopted from the Chinese culture.
But after the Second World War stopped being used so often and actually is reserved for major events such as weddings and funerals.
Another fact that I can tell you is that there are kimonos for both women and men, a difference between these is that the male's kimono have darker colors
but this is something we can deepen in a forthcoming video.
Did you know that the numbers of bad luck in Japan are 4 and 9? Here in the West, as everyone knows, the unlucky number is 13, which comes from a somewhat religious issue.
Well, in Japan the number 4 and 9 are considered unlucky, first because the number four sounds like the word "Death"
and the number nine are closely associated with the word "suffering".
And there in Japan are so superstitious that even there are hotels that haven't have rooms with these numbers.
Did you know that in Japan commonly frequents the hot springs?
I comment a while back ago that Japan is a place that concentrates a lot of volcanoes, well because of this there are many places with hot springs and they are quite frequented.
Here you can get almost anyone, you do not need much money to go.
Also these hot springs are divided for men and women, and is obligatory be cleaned with soap to enter.
Did you know that Karaoke is one of the most popular activities in Japan?
The particular is that Japan has a kind of individual Karaoke rooms, perfect for those who want to avoid looking foolish in front of crowds.
The price of the karaoke goes per hour and vary depending on the day, is more expensive on Saturday night because it is a much busier time for people.
Did you know that the national sport of Japan is the Sumo?
And if you did not know, the Sumo started as a martial art where two opponents participate.
And then eventually became a sport. The objective is to knock down the opponent or get him out of the circular area where the sport is performed.
Contrary to some sports, you must have a lot of muscle, basically you have to eat much because the weight is a key factor if you want to win in a confrontation.
Did you know that to learn to cook a fugu is necessary a 11 years preparation?
I think you have to be a pro if you want to prepare a dish that contains a poisonous fish and much more if it can be deadly.
The dishes with Fugu is one of the most famous of Japanese culture, the most popular style is Sashimi, which is basically cut the fish into thin slices.
Did you know that in Japan there are bars where the main attraction is to be with cats?
Imagine that after completely exhausting day of school or work you get tired, stressed medium, and well, in Japan started to become famous these bars with cats.
Where apart from drink something we can request a cat to make us company. The approximately price of half-hour is 4.5$ and $1 for each 10 minutes additionals.
